Typically non operating and used to add style and increase natural light transoms span the width of the opening they top and can be placed above single or double doors and sidelites. Full light sidelights allow in the most light while craftsman light sidelights have smaller panes of glass for more privacy. Transoms are stationary sections of glass placed above an entry door and its sidelights. They allow natural light to stream into your entryway.

Transom windows also called transom lights sit above an entry patio or interior door or other windows. So for a 2 8 door so would order a 2 8 transom. In the summer windows were opened at the front and the rear of the home to create airflow. We do not make doors but you can choose most any door that you can find and we will build an exterior transom to fit above it.

Sidelights are vertical pieces of glass placed on the sides of an entry door to add more natural light to your home. For single doors simply order a transom sash that is the same width as the door slab that will go underneath. Exterior transom windows often sell as part of an entire door system which makes them simpler to install and because they re manufactured as a single sealed unit they offer increased weather.
